Not fit enough for climbing at Almscliffe tonight, so my plan B was meeting Gareth at Scugdale. This became the alternative SOC meet when Ian decided to head that way as well. Gareth and I were greeted by a sharp shower on arrival, followed by a wet walk up to the crag, but it gradually brightened up thereafter. The rock was just a bit damp, so we stuck to top/roping around Scott Buttress. We were treated to a Scugdale special sundown. A pleasant plan B in the end. Sadly, I was in such a hurry to escape the flies feasting on my bloodied knee, that I managed to drive over my helmet.
