A relaxed scenic flat and chat paddle on the River Ure today from Ripon to Boroughbridge in the company of 5 lovely gentlemen. Lunch at Westwick weir was a feast of wildlife….a buzzard sat on a branch deciding which one of us to eat, woodpeckers, herons, an egret, a magnificent soaring kite, and of course a kingfisher! We had some debate over whether we’d spotted a Merlin…on balance it’s likely.
All in blazing hot sunny weather…nothing like a summers day messing about on a river.
